My reflection about research method in last term.
This aspect is for reflecting the journals of my research method. Personally, I think I already got a number of practical experience of design product, due to that I had much practical experience ---nearly I had experience more than 100 design examples.
It is my pleasure I have chance to come NTU for my design study, so I was so enthusiastic in my lecture. However, in terms of the English study environment, there are lot of differences in academic design education in comparison with my background. From September 2014, I was struggling in my lecture study because of my English. Although I was so thirsty to get the knowledge of design, my reception and refinement of lecture was limited by listening the content of research. My heart knew clearly that about Research method is correctly my weakness. In one hand, I was surprised I had a chance to learn that. In the other hand, I was so annoyed about my reception of knowledge. That was one such suffering period that occasionally lead me despairing in my study. Sometimes I almost gave up and ceased my study process. Until one current day, my condition and passion in study were graceful restored by some study, possibly by some accumulation.it seems like that my smart mind have been ignited by something.
I could understand more in the lecture than before. It is also better to explain my opinion in our academic communication. My insight is working so fascinating in combination of my own knowledge, classmate’s opinions and content of lecture or tutors.
Back to the research method. At the beginning of the term, I realized the importance and value of that to me, because this was roughly my lack parts in design confusing me so long time. For example, I have deal with some design cases which is apply a solution for watching 3D movie creatively, I knew how to exactly make them more beautiful in aesthetics and which material could be applied more reasonably and more costly . However, my confusing point is rightly the reason why I choose that kind of product’ form or strategy to solve that problem. During the day growing, my problem in that part was more and more critical in my practical design. I usually made more mistakes in direction of my design of which directly influenced the specific product, eventually my design cases I devoted in were not accepted by people or customers.
During the study of research method study, I was catching the sign of solution to my situation. A number of problems were catching to answers in my study or lecture. Of cause, almost all of these were necessarily absorbed in English language system. It was an exciting and challengeable stage for me to improve my potential ability and energy. I will never forget the time of discussing together with other British mates and facing the crisis in the pressure together in the research module.

My questions and my proposals to my research method
My several points (some already solved) are organised blow:
1. Why design research is the foundation of the product project?
My proposals already gained in research method at this stage:
Firstly, in my mind, I probably have one conception or idea. It could be one product-using situation, some user-groups or just the defect of some products. From that, I could start my journey of research.
At the beginning of the research, it is essential to know that which users is your target groups as participants, which object is your target, which materials it is made of . Generally, designer is necessary to make that clearly what it research for ? This is first step of research. Meanwhile, it is the first step of hypothesis. One is worthy to concern about hypothesis in this step is that direction of developing hypothesis just have simply two choices: one or opposite one. The answer of hypothesis is more simple more better. That could influences the development of the whole following logic in research.
The practical research process probably emphasis on several detail aspects and steps. However, it could be in the similar order to deal with: 1 collection 2 analysis 3 refinement
